INTRODUCTION
Austria doesn't cater specifically for motorcaravans
particularly well, but things may be changing as motorcaravanning becomes more widespread.
In any case there are plenty of reasonably priced campsites available.
I have found a very useful book which is available in caravan accessory shops (in
Germany):
WOHNMOBIL STELLPLATZE - OSTERREICH by Dr Dieter Semmler and published by RID-Verlag, and
costing 38.80DM (in 2000). This is a more personal approach, where Dr Semmler details 200
free overnight stops that he has visited in Austria. The book is organised in order of
geographic area, and details of facilities, etc. are listed for each site. (I bought this
book in 2001, - haven't had a chance to use it yet!). Incidentally, Dr Semmler has a
series of these books including Germany, Austria, France and Italy - all in German.
